Friday, April 17th
Happy Friday everyone, This is Pastor Daniel from Living Word Church. As has been our custom since being quarantined, Friday has become "Love Your Neighbor Day" (Galatians 5:14). And this week I want to encourage you all for doing such an incredible job!
Many of you have signed up to volunteer in emergency shelters around Worcester or to deliver meals to seniors who are shut in. I actually started volunteering at an emergency shelter this Wednesday and it was great! I had the privilege of serving food, cleaning, hanging out with the clients and hearing their stories and even got the opportunity to pray and read Scripture with them! There is still a big need so If you are interested in any of these serving opportunities email me and let me know!
Here are some other ways you have been loving your neighbors:
3,300+ people viewed our worship services this past weekend on Facebook because you have been sharing it with your friends. Several of these people (who never attended our Church in person) saw our services and committed their life to Christ and want to be baptized and discipled!!! PRAISE GOD!!!
You have been texting in prayer requests for your neighbors whether they be your friends, family members, co-workers or even people you don't personally know and together we have been praying for them and seeing God work miracles!
Many of you have been making reusable masks for those in need. We actually have an urgent request from one of our church members for 15 more masks to help her employees working in a nursing home. So please keep making them and bringing them in so we can get them in the right hands!
Speaking of helping those in need during this pandemic, here is an article forwarded by Pastor Brian that I want to share with you which talks about how the Church has actually grown through pandemics in the past: https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/4-lessons-church-history/ https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/4-lessons-church-history/%3famp
Please check it out and be encouraged.
Jesus said in Matthew 5:16, "let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." This is an opportunity for us to show the world what the love of Christ is all about. So Keep it up everyone. You are doing great!
With love from your neighbor, Pastor Daniel
