Route one and day of hope

Hi Living Word Church,

Pastor Daniel here sending you my love in Jesus' name.  For our Love Our Neighbor post this week I want to share a couple things:

  1. First I want to share with you a Bible study video that I made to follow-up with my message on Sunday from 1 John 2:15-17.  The major way we can truly love our neighbors is to have God's love deep inside our hearts.  And sadly as the apostle John tells us, the love for the world and the things of this world can replace the love of God and His love for others within our hearts.  So in this video, I talk about ways we can discern whether we are loving the things of this world or growing in the love of God.  I encourage you to watch it, reflect and invite God's love to grow deep within your heart.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmHutEUToGI&t=3s

  2. In my sermon on Sunday and in previous posts, I talked about the ministry Route One which seeks to love women who are enslaved within sex trafficking.  The ministry has asked if anyone of us would be interested in partnering with them to purchase gifts for the women they minister to.  If you are interested in please respond and let me know and I can give you more details about how you can give gifts of love.

  3. Finally, this years "Day of Hope" outreach is only two weeks away on Saturday July 25th.This year the event will focus on loving our neighbors who are seeking recovery from drug addiction.  If you are interested in serving at the event, please respond to this email and let us know.  Please join us in prayer for the event, for the people in our community who are battling addiction and for the programs and ministries that are seeking to help. And finally feel free to invite people to the event who you believe could benefit from it.

I leave us today to mediate upon a Scripture I shared this past Sunday regarding the love of Christ and love in action:

1 John 3:16-18 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. Love from your neighbor, Pastor Daniel
