Hello Living Word Church, God Bless you all. This has been a significant week for many of us. In response to George Floyd's killing many of us have loved our neighbors in a variety of new ways. Some of us have stood together to peacefully protest racism, racial injustice and police brutality. Many have cried out to God for His justice, love, righteousness and reconciliation to come to our nation. Some have spoken out seeking to share their stories and raise awareness of these issues. Others have empathetically listened and learned from others. Many have had uncomfortable conversations. Some have studied Scripture and shared them. Others have educated themselves, reading books and watching documentaries. Many of us have confessed our own personal sins of racism and indifference to the suffering of others and the sins of our nation. I pray that these loving actions will continue. 1 John 3:18 states, "Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth." Let us continue to act as God's agents of love and righteousness in this broken and hurting world. Another issue that we have been seeking to raise awareness of is human and sex trafficking. This grievous sin and injustice not only occurs in other nations but is happening right here in our city and state. In response, Living Word Church will be hosting a seminar to raise awareness of this issue. It will be led by a ministry called Route One (https://lovedbyrouteone.org) who seeks to raise awareness and help women in particular become free of sexual enslavement and experience the love of Jesus Christ and His Church. This seminar is free, is open to everyone and will be held virtually via Zoom on Saturday, June 27th from 10am-12pm. I am asking many of us to participate and I will be sharing more info on how you can register. If you are interested please reply and let me know. Also, as we make plans to re-open our church for physical services I invite you to take a minute and fill-out our re-opening survey if you have yet to do so already. It is very helpful as we make preparations to re-open for Sunday worship soon and endeavor to love you and love the "least of these" (Matthew 25:40). https://www.livingwordworcester.com/survey Finally, for those of us who know neighbors in need we have a variety of items that you can bless them with: diapers, soaps, feminine hygiene products, care packs with toiletries, snacks and pantry foods. If you or anyone you know of could be blessed by these items please reply and let us know! With Love from your neighbor, Pastor Daniel Isaiah 1:16-17 Wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight; stop doing wrong. Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.
